John Castillo
Baritone John Castillo has been thrilling audiences in various venues throughout New England.
John has been featured as a soloist with both Wellesley Symphony and Boston Civic Orchestras. He sang the National Anthem in 2004 at Fenway Park for the Red Sox home opener.
In 2009, John performed a moving duet, “Motherland”, with singer-songwriter Natalie Merchant accompanied by Livingston Taylor on guitar and most recently performed at both Boston Symphony and NEC’s Jordan Hall.
For several years, John was selected to perform at Perkins School for the Blind’s annual fundraiser where he sang duets with Bob Weir, Peter Wolf, Felix Cavaliere and Lance Hoppen from the band Orleans.
He has also performed with the Boston Revels and local folk singer and musician, David Coffin
In addition to Opera, John enjoys singing Jazz, Broadway, Contemporary and Liturgical music. He sings in nine different languages
When he’s not singing, John enjoys playing the piano, accordion and is an accomplished drummer.
